Encouragement Online
Statement of Purpose
The purpose of Encouragement Online Magazine is to promote spiritual, emotional, and relational care in the global servant community by providing articles and resources that are biblically sound, culturally appropriate, and personally practical.
An "encourager" is a person called alongside another to give help. In the New Testament, "comforter" is sometimes used for "encourager." A comforter is a person who gives strength to one who is weaker.
Encouragement Online intends to provide strength for our readers in three ways. We want you to:
1) have the strength to name and face the real issues of life, faith, and mission;
2) receive strength from our living God, who is the ultimate source of strength;
3) maintain your strength by pursuing ministry as part of a team (instead of as a maverick).
This Autumn issue focuses on "The Changing Face of Missions." Each writer is a seasoned caregiver who has weathered the myriad of changes that come in missions. Reading and internalizing what these authors have to say might help you embrace the changes in your life. We hope so!
Peace,
Dave Wiersbe, Managing Editor
